The ACS Vipers: They came, they saw, they conquered!
EMAC JV Academic Games is a competition of 9 schools from Oman, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. Each school brings two teams. For two days the teams play each other in the “Seeding” round.
At the end of the seeding rounds ACSa (Andy, Bilal, John K., and Apoorva) and ACSb (John G., Rachel, Phillip, and Nick) were tied with ASKa and DOHAa for first, each with a record of 14 wins and 3 losses. Based on head-to-head matches and total score, ACSa was seeded first and ACSb was seeded fourth.
The Finals:
ACSa beat ACSb sending ACSb into a consolation match against Doha. They beat Doha for third place.
ACSa played ASKa in a thrilling match that included a challenge on a math problem by ASK. At the end of time ACSa had a one point lead, but ASK won the challenge (very legit challenge) and won the match by 4 points.
So out of 18 teams,
ACS won second and third, bringing home two banners! It was a great tournament and the kids were absolutely awesome! They were the talk and envy of all the coaches.
